About Unicorn Rus

Who is Unicorn Rus and where are you located?

Unicornrus is a US-based online retail store selling electric tricycles for adults. Our address is 14592 S 182ND LN, GOODYEAR, AZ 85338. We do not manufacture our own trikes. We source from suppliers whose safety certifications and documentation meet our standards, and we handle all customer support, warranty coordination, and post-purchase service directly.

Do you make your own trikes?

No. We are a retailer, not a manufacturer. Every product we carry comes from suppliers whose safety documentation and certifications we review before listing. Our value is in selection and accountability. We decide what makes it onto this site and we stand behind what we sell.

Why did you start selling electric trikes?

We kept hearing from people who wanted a stable, low-effort way to get outside. Adults in their 60s and 70s who had given up two-wheel cycling. People recovering from surgery. RV travelers who wanted a way to get around the campground without a car. The products existed but the shopping experience was confusing and the after-sale support was often nonexistent. We thought we could do better at the retail level, so that is what we set out to do.

Riding and Performance

Can my electric trike handle hills?

Our trikes handle moderate neighborhood hills, up to around 8 to 12 percent grade, reasonably well. Steeper inclines will slow the motor and drain the battery faster. On our lower-wattage models, you will need to pedal actively on steeper grades. Our 750W model handles sustained inclines better than the 350W models. If you live in a hilly area, contact us before ordering and describe your typical route. We will tell you which model is the better fit and whether any of our current lineup is realistic for your terrain.

How far can it go on one charge?

Real-world range varies significantly from manufacturer ratings. Our models are rated between 35 and 55 miles under ideal conditions, meaning flat terrain, a lighter rider, low assist level, and moderate speed. In everyday use, most riders see 15 to 30 miles per charge depending on the model, rider weight, terrain, speed, and assist level used. We list realistic range estimates on each product page alongside the manufacturer's rated figure. Plan your routes with the lower number in mind and you will not be caught short.

Will it turn over on turns?

At normal riding speeds, no. Electric trikes are stable at low to moderate speeds. The risk comes from taking sharp corners too fast. The inside rear wheel can lift if you enter a turn at high speed. The practical rule is to slow down before corners and make wider arcs than you would on a bike. Most riders adapt to this within a few short rides. See our Safety Tips page for more on trike handling.

Is it difficult for a first-time rider?

Most first-time trike riders feel comfortable within one or two practice sessions. The adjustment is that trikes do not lean into turns the way bikes do, and the wider stance takes a little getting used to on shared paths. The trike stays upright on its own at a stop, so there is no balancing required. We recommend 10 to 15 minutes of practice in a quiet parking lot before your first road ride. Our Assembly Guide includes a first-ride tips section.

What speed does it go?

Most of our models are Class 2 e-bikes with a maximum assisted speed of 20 mph. You can pedal beyond that speed without motor assist if conditions allow, but the motor cuts out at 20 mph. Speed in practice depends on terrain, rider weight, and assist level. Most daily riding happens between 10 and 16 mph.

How much weight can it carry?

Most models specify a capacity of 300 to 330 lbs, which is the combined total of rider weight plus anything in the cargo basket. The rear basket typically holds 15 to 20 lbs safely. Check the specific product page for the weight capacity of the model you are considering. Exceeding the rated capacity affects handling, braking distance, and component lifespan.

For Seniors and Riders With Mobility Concerns

Is an electric trike good for seniors?

This is genuinely one of the best uses for an electric trike. Three wheels stay upright without any input from the rider. There is no balancing at stops, no putting a foot down, no risk of tipping at low speeds. The step-through frame allows easy mounting and dismounting without raising your leg high. Pedal assist reduces the physical effort so you can ride further without tiring. Many of our customers are in their 60s, 70s, and 80s and use the trike for daily errands and neighborhood rides they had stopped doing on two wheels.

What if I have knee or hip problems?

A lot of our customers specifically choose e-trikes for this reason. The step-through frame makes mounting and dismounting easier than a standard bicycle. Setting your seat height correctly, with a slight bend in your knee at the bottom of the pedal stroke, reduces joint stress significantly. If you have had a hip or knee replacement and are unsure whether riding is appropriate for you, we recommend speaking with your doctor or physical therapist before purchasing.

Can I use it instead of a mobility scooter?

Many customers do use e-trikes as an alternative to a mobility scooter, particularly for outdoor use in neighborhoods, parks, campgrounds, and flat suburban areas. An e-trike offers more exercise, a more natural riding position, and a larger cargo basket. It is not a medical device and is not designed for indoor use or tight spaces. If you need something primarily for indoor or very short-distance mobility, a mobility scooter may be more appropriate. If you want outdoor independence with some exercise benefit, an e-trike is worth considering.

Storage, Transport, and RV Use

Does it fold? Can I put it in my car or RV?

Our trikes have a folding frame that reduces the overall footprint. The folded trike typically fits in the bed of a full-size pickup truck, a large SUV cargo area, or a cargo van with the rear seats down. At 65 to 92 lbs, you will need a ramp or a second person to load it. It does not fold down to a compact size like a folding bicycle. Before purchasing with transport in mind, measure your vehicle's cargo area and compare it to the folded dimensions listed on each product page.

Is it good for RV camping trips?

Yes. This is one of our most popular use cases. Many customers use their trike as a campground vehicle, riding to the camp store, the lake, fishing spots, or neighboring sites without starting the car. A folding trike fits in a truck bed or large cargo van and is easy to deploy at a campground. The rear basket handles a grocery run or fishing gear. If RV use is your primary use case, contact us and we will help you confirm which model and storage method works for your setup.

How do I store it at home?

A standard garage works well. Folding the trike reduces the footprint. Keep the trike covered if storing long-term and store the battery indoors in moderate temperatures, ideally between 50 and 77 degrees F. Avoid storing the trike in direct sun or in a car trunk during hot months. See our Safety Tips page for battery storage guidance.

Ordering and Shipping

Where do you ship?

We ship to the contiguous United States only, the lower 48 states. We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, military addresses, or P.O. Boxes. This is because electric trikes are large freight items that require ground freight carriers, which do not service these locations reliably. See our Shipping Policy for full details.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days. Transit time after shipment is 7 to 9 business days for most contiguous US addresses. Total estimated time from order to delivery is 8 to 12 business days. You will receive a tracking number by email once your order ships. Delays can occur during peak shipping seasons, November through January.

Is shipping free?

Yes. Free standard shipping on all orders to the contiguous United States. No minimum order value. No hidden fees. The total shown at checkout is the total you pay.

Where does my order ship from?

All orders ship from our US-based fulfillment warehouse. Because your trike ships domestically, there are no customs delays, no import duties, and no surprise fees at delivery.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged?

Inspect your package at delivery before signing. If the outer box shows significant damage, note it on the carrier's receipt. Contact us at support@unicornrus.com within 48 hours of delivery, include your order number, photos of the outer packaging, and photos of the damage. We will arrange a replacement part, full replacement, or refund depending on the extent of the damage. See our Returns and Refunds Policy for full details.

Returns and Warranty

What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery. We cover both defective items and buyer's remorse returns. Items must be unused and unridden. Contact us before returning anything. Do not ship items back without return authorization. See our Returns and Refunds Policy for the full process, conditions, and refund timeline.

Who pays for return shipping?

If your item arrived defective or damaged, or if we shipped the wrong item, we cover return shipping. If you are returning because you changed your mind, return shipping is the buyer's responsibility. Because electric trikes are large freight items, return shipping costs for buyer's remorse returns can be significant. We encourage you to contact us with questions before purchasing so you can make a confident decision.

What does the warranty cover?

All trikes come with a 1-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects in the frame, motor, controller, battery, display, throttle, and charger under normal use. Wear items such as tires, brake pads, and cables are not covered. Damage from accidents, misuse, or unauthorized modifications is not covered. See our Warranty Information page for full coverage details and how to submit a claim.

How do warranty repairs work?

In most cases, we resolve warranty issues by shipping you a replacement component directly. Most components on these trikes are plug-and-swap modular parts. No soldering, no specialized tools. If you are not comfortable with the swap yourself, we arrange a free technical video support session where our team walks you through the repair step by step via video. We rarely require you to ship the whole trike back. See our Warranty Information page for more details.

Assembly and Maintenance

How much assembly is required?

Your trike arrives partially assembled. You will need to attach the front wheel, handlebars, seat post, pedals, front brake cable, LCD display, and rear basket if included. Most customers complete assembly in 30 to 60 minutes using the tools included in the box. No specialized tools or mechanical knowledge required. A printed manual with model-specific diagrams is included.

Can I get assembly video help?

Yes. Email us at support@unicornrus.com with your order number and model name and we will send you a link to the assembly video walkthrough for your specific model. Video guides are especially helpful for the brake adjustment and pedal installation steps.

Do you offer assembly services?

We do not offer in-home assembly services. However, many local bike shops will assemble an e-trike for a fee. If you choose this option, we recommend calling ahead to confirm they are comfortable with e-trike assembly and ask about their rate. You can also contact us for a video walkthrough at any point during assembly.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept PayPal only. Through PayPal, you can pay with a credit card, debit card, or bank account. You do not need a PayPal account. At checkout, select PayPal and choose the guest checkout option to pay with a card directly. We do not accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo, checks, or wire transfers at this time. We are working to expand payment options and will update this page when that changes.

Is it safe to pay on your site?

All transactions are processed through PayPal's secure payment platform using SSL and TLS encryption. We do not store your card number or banking credentials on our servers. PayPal also provides Buyer Protection on eligible purchases, giving you an additional layer of recourse if an issue arises. See our Payment Methods and Security page for full details.
